If someone said, they were in Community College. What would your first thoughts be? Our first instinct is to marginalize people it doesn't make you a bad person or horrible. Its human instinct its how we learn to thrive. Especially when we were hunters and gathers. We had to make quick judgments because without it we wouldn't survive.

What are your thoughts when you heard them say “Community College”? What about if that person was a family member? A friend?

What if you were told you were broken? What about if you were told by a professional that your child was broken? On top of that, your child would never succeed? You will never succeed.

Would it matter if the person who told you this was a family practitioner? A doctor? What about someone you trust? Or maybe a close friend?

You probably focused more on the last questions, such as if you or your child was categorized as broken. You also probably got mad at the person who told a parent their child will never succeed. Which is natural because no one likes to hear this, especially if they are told this from a professional. Someone they are supposed to trust. Someone who has a degree in knowing the“right answers”. Maybe your first thoughts were: “Those are horrible!”BEEP YOU!”
